TRIP OVERVIEW
Whitewater Rafting on the Wild & Scenic Deschutes River
Join us for an unforgettable three-day, two-night whitewater rafting adventure on the Deschutes River, starting and ending in Maupin, Oregon. Experience the beauty of one of the most scenic river basins in the United States as you spend your days floating along the water, and your evenings fishing from sandy beaches, savoring delicious meals around a warm fire, and camping under a starlit sky with our expert guides.
The Deschutes River begins at Little Lava Lake in the Cascade Mountains, nourished by underground springs, making it one of the largest spring-fed rivers in the country. From its source, the river flows northward, winding through majestic mountains and basalt canyons until it reaches the Columbia River and eventually the Pacific Ocean. Recognized as a Wild and Scenic River by the federal government, the Deschutes is celebrated for its stunning geology, rich history, diverse wildlife, and abundant fish species.
We offer rafting excursions on two separate sections of the river: one that starts near Bend, OR, and ends in Maupin, OR, and another that flows from Maupin to the mouth of the Columbia River. Unsure which section is best for your group? Contact us for guidance!
The Deschutes River is rated as intermediate, featuring numerous Class III rapids, with the potential for Class III+ rapids depending on water levels. It is suitable for beginners and non-swimmers, while still delivering enough thrills to keep experienced rafters engaged. This trip is perfect for families with young children, non-swimmers, and those eager to experience a multi-day rafting adventure.
